If you’re visiting or living in Strasbourg, the saunas at the Municipal Baths are an absolute must-visit. They’re luxurious, relaxing, and great to try at any time of the year.
There are several different sauna options available:
- dry steam
- salt
- infrared saunas
- and a big bonus: jacuzzi, cold bath, outside well-being area, and Nordic pool!
Everything is clean, well-maintained, and accessible for visitors 16 y.o. and older.
The Best Saunas in Strasbourg: good to know
- Time to spend: 2-3 hours
- Bring your own towel, water bottle, swimsuit
- We found the less crowded time to be on weekday mornings
- And don’t forget to take off your glasses (if you wear one) before entering the sauna
1. Sauna routine for newbies
- your first visit to the sauna should be short and intense: between 8-12 minutes
- take a cool/cold shower on leaving
- give yourself at least fifteen minutes of relaxation in the rest room, before another visit to the sauna

The nordic pool, pictured below, is ideal for relaxing the body as a whole. It is a heated outdoor pool located in the nice, green surroundings:
