Cool Amusement Park For Little Kids in Alsace

Cigoland, amusement park for kids 12y.o. and under in 40 min from Strasbourg. Rides, animals, barefoot trail, circus, etc..

Cigoland, nestled in the scenic region of Alsace, is both an amusement park for little kids and an educational zoo, providing a unique blend of entertainment and learning.

Open: approximately from end of March to end of October.
Address: Route de Sélestat 67600 Kintzheim.

Amusement park for little kids

The park is themed around the white stork (“cigogne” means stork in French), a beloved symbol of Alsace, and aims to raise awareness about the bird and its conservation.

Below: plan of the park. We spent the whole day in there but were not able to see everything, there a lot of activities:

1. Rides and attractions

Pictured below: one of the many rides we tried:

Below: it was fall during our visit, so several water rides were closed, but some remain open:

We were visiting with my mom, who has limited mobility and it was really heartwarming to have fun as a family, all together:

One of the biggest pros of the Cigoland – it is great park for smallest children, so they enjoy a lot of rides and attraction.

2. Circus

Since it was our first time at Cigoland, we expected just rides and were surprised to discover .. circus there:

Pictured below: there are several performances per day, (check the schedule after arriving at the park):

3. Seasonal activities

This was a great surprise: we came to the park during Halloween, and we have never seen so nicely decorated place. Plus, there were activities (pictured below), lot of families and children dressed for holiday, etc.

If your kids moved from a country where in was highlight of the year (like for our kids in States), it might be a great place to visit in fall:

4. Food and snacks

Menu for the day at Cigoland: beer, waffles, pasta, ice cream, knacks and fries:

Pictured below: pretty simple, but enough (this is end of the day, so much of the food at the cafe is already gone:)):

Pictured below: huge playground adjusted directly to the cafe:

5. Barefoot trail

Barefoot trails are pretty popular in France and Germany, and great activity for families and children:

We like those trails because they are good for any ages, and every single one we ever visited was absolutely different:

6. Animals

Pictured below: symbol of Alsace, storks.

Young birds have to stay for minimum of 3 years under the net, not being able to fly away and migrate for winter. Thanks for this their migrating instincts erased and they can live in Alsace without ever going to Africa in winter.

(So they won’t die during the trip and their numbers remain stable in Alsace region). More about preservation storks in Alsace here.
