Among the many attractions in Alsace, La Volerie des Aigles stands out as a unique experience for families and nature lovers.
“The Eagle Aviary”, was founded in 1968 in the ruins of Kintzheim Castle to help protect and raise awareness about birds of prey. At the time, raptor numbers in France were falling fast due to hunting and intensive farming.
As the first aviary of its kind in France, the park aimed to change public views – showing raptors as vital to nature, not pests. Through shows, education, and conservation, it helps protect this birds.

The highlight of the park visit is definitely the live bird show.
Even if you don’t understand the language, it’s fascinating to watch these magnificent creatures in action – massive birds like the 12 kg Andean condor (the largest bird of prey in the world) and magical ones like the snowy owl from Harry Potter flying right in front of you!

Castle, Monkey Mountain, and Amusement park, – they all located at the same mountain.
We visited and liked those places a lot. Castle, one of the most interesting in France, was nicely decorated during Christmas, Monkey Mountain great in spring, when there are plenty of baby-monkeys, and Amusement park was amazing during Halloween:
